Sydney from the top level of a double decker bus

A great way to see a city is to take the Hop On Hop Off Sightseeing tour.  Here are just a few shots from the bus showing the varied types of buildings in Sydney.  This row of Victorian buildings reminded me of San Francisco, although they could use a bit of "tidying up."
I wish I knew what building this is...
And this beautiful cathedral...
This is a view of Bondi Beach, one of the trendiest in Sydney.  Sydney is loaded with beaches, each having its own personality and ticks on the desirability scale.  This one is considered among the best.  We hopped off here to look around.  The beach itself is gorgeous but what we saw was a rather tacky surfer dude scene--surfers of all ages mad to get into the 50 degree water, lots of coffee shops and burger joints.  Still, if you're into it, I'll bet it's great fun.

  1. Mom, that is the Queen Victoria Building, which I found by googling Sydney architecture turrets. Check out the History and Pictures. The outside is impressive but, it's very sweet inside.

I haven't had much time to read your blog but did some catching up last night. Loving your pics and writing and adventures. Keep it up.

    Love you both. Travel safely.

PS the commenting is difficult because it requires a PhD in computer science to figure out the image challenge. Most give up after a few tries. On behalf of all computer scientists, I personally apologize we've let it come to this.
