So many things to do in Sydney...

  1. The concierge at the Sir Stamford told us to pop into The Hero of Waterloo, a famous old Sydney pub, for a pint.  We walked through a popular area of Sydney called The Rocks and finally came upon the very pub.  We were standing across the street debating the merits of having a beer at 10:30 in the morning when a gent walked up to us and said "If you do nothing else in Sydney, you must have a pint at the Hero of Waterloo.  'Tis a pub as a pub should be!"  So that cinched it and we went in for a wee nip, the hour be damned.
This is the interior of the Hero of Waterloo. Definitely old and atmospheric.  There were only a few other die-hards at the bar, but I'll bet it jumps as the day wears on.
For a change of pace, we watched this man feed the gulls back on the waterfront.
And this is Manly Beach, another of Sydney's famous beaches.  We took a different ferry to see it.  At the ferry landing, we walked across the Corso, a short five minutes to the other side of the beach which you see here.  The waves were much higher than any we had seen and the surfers were bobbing happily in the cold water.  This is a mecca for surfers.
