Our Arrival in Sydney

What a pleasant surprise our room at the Sir Stamford on Circular Quay turned out to be. Spacious and comfortable, lots of places to relax, great bathroom with TWO sinks! And a sweet night concierge who traded me unlimited internet for the daily high tea I had inexplicably signed up for.

Another  view of the room.   Out the window to the tree lined street we had a view of the Royal Botanical Gardens across the way.
Although we were tired from the travel, Sydney Harbor was just a short walk down the street so we decided to take a quick look before going back to the hotel and callling it a night.  This area is called Circular Quay and this was our first glimpse of Sydney Harbor with the famous Opera House looming over it.  We were so blown away we walked around for a couple of hours, had a pizza and wine at a cafe and sat gob-smacked at the beauty until quite late.

This is the famous Opera Bar which is on the lower level with the Opera House above.  It is considered quite chi-chi and THE place to see and be seen, but we just watched from above.
